Father's Day Mass

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Each year on 15 August, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On this special day, we remember that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was taken into heaven at the end of her earthly life. This feast is a celebration of hope which recognises Mary's unique place in God's plan of salvation and her faithful response to God's call throughout her life.

It was a pleasure to work with the White Class as we learned about this special feast day. Students created playdough representations of Mary and shared their understanding of her importance in our Catholic faith. It was wonderful to see each student express their learning in creative ways.

We thank you for the gift of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Through her faith and trust in you, she showed the world how to live with love, courage and hope.

As we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption, help us to follow Mary's example by saying "yes" to your call, serving others with kindness, and trusting in your plan for our lives.

May Mary pray for our school community and guide us closer to Jesus each day.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
