NAIDOC WEEK 2026 - 50 YEARS OF DEADLY
This year, we warmly invite our school community to join us for our upcoming NAIDOC Week assembly as we proudly celebrate the NAIDOC theme, “50 Years of Deadly,” recognising the strength, pride and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over the past 50 years. Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students will be at the heart of this celebration, sharing their voices, culture, and what makes them deadly within our school community.
Date: Monday, 29th June
Time: 12:30pm
Location: St Edward's Primary School, Hillvue Road
Following the assembly, we invite all families, visitors and special guests to join us for a sausage sizzle. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect and celebrate together as a community.
We look forward to sharing this special occasion with you.

If you’re able to help out with cooking, serving or setting up/packing down, we’d really appreciate it.

Year 3 Cultural Immersion: Me and My Culture
During Term 1, our Year 3 Cultural Immersion group, Warruwi (meaning 'pathway'), explored the beautiful story My Culture and Me by Gregg Dreise. After listening to the story, the students yarned about the aspects of their culture they cherish most. These visual reflections were then brought to life through vibrant self-portraits, which are now proudly displayed in our Cultural Room for all to enjoy.

ANZAC Day March
Thank you to the many students who participated in the Anzac Day March last Saturday. The number of students at the march was outstanding and the respectful manner in which they attended is to be commended. As a school, we believe it is very important to support the wider community on this day and to show our appreciation and honour those who sacrificed so much to bring peace to the world.
Last Friday, we gathered as a school to reflect on the Anzac story and what it means to us. We remembered the sacrifices that the men and women of our country have made during times of war. We prayed for those who have served and are currently serving in our armed forces at Liturgies held at the Primary and Infants Campus.
Year 2 Infants Leaders - Term 2
A huge congratulations to our Term 2 Infants Leaders! Each term, new Infants Leaders from Year 2 are selected to be positive role models for our K - 2 students. These students take on important daily tasks for teachers, while consistently demonstrating respect, kindness and responsibility in the classroom and on the playground. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and the leadership they bring to our school community!!

Uniform Changeover - Summer to Winter
All students may continue to wear their summer school uniform in Term 2. The official date for the changeover from summer to winter uniform is after the June long weekend. However, if the weather turns chilly before this time, students are allowed to wear their full school winter uniform. This includes a long-sleeve shirt and tie. We ask that whichever uniform your child elects to wear, that they wear the full uniform correctly - please do not mix summer and winter uniform items. Thank you for your support with this. Lowes stock all our new St Edward's uniforms, or we have good quality second-hand uniforms in our clothing pool at either school campus.
Student Absences
All student absences need to be lodged on the Compass Parent Portal. Due to government legislation, notification of your child's absence must be received no later than 7 days after your child's last day of absence.
