CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

Living the Easter Joy: Continuing the Celebration

While the excitement of Easter Sunday may have passed, the Church’s celebration is far from over.  In the Catholic tradition, Easter is not just a single day, but a joyous 50-day season that continues all the way until Pentecost.

Three weeks after Easter, we are still  immersed in the joy of the Resurrection. It is a wonderful time to remind our children that the message of Easter—hope, new life, and the enduring love of God—is something we carry with us every day, not just during the holidays.

In the classroom, we have been exploring what it means to be "Easter People." This means living with kindness, choosing forgiveness, and being a light for others, just as Jesus was. As we move deeper into this season, our focus turns to how we can recognise the presence of the Risen Jesus in our daily lives. Through our friendships, our care for the environment, and our commitment to supporting one another in our school community.

As we continue to walk through this season of light and hope, let us strive to be witnesses to the joy that Easter brings, showing love and compassion to those around us, both at school and at home.

Family Table Talk

To help you carry these conversations into your home life, here are three discussion points for your next family dinner or car trip.

  • The "Easter Person" Challenge: People who bring joy and hope to others. What is one small, kind thing you did this week that helped make someone else’s day a little brighter?

  • Seeing the Light: Easter is a season of light. When things feel difficult or sad, what are some things we can do as a family to help remember the hope and joy that Jesus offers us?

  • The Good Shepherd: In the weeks after Easter, we often hear the story of Jesus as the Good Shepherd who cares for his sheep.
  • If Jesus is the Shepherd, how do we "look after the flock" in our own family?
  • Who do we need to check on or care for this week?

A Prayer for Term 2

Loving God,

We thank you for the fresh start that Term 2 brings. Bless our school community as we come together once again to learn, grow, and explore.

Guide our students with wisdom and curiosity. Help our teachers with patience and inspiration.

May our classrooms be places of kindness, collaboration, and respect.

Give us the strength to face new challenges with a positive spirit, and the heart to support one another in everything we do.

May we fill this term with hard work, laughter, and the joy of discovery.

We place our learning and our friendships into your hands.

Amen.
