Robert Syme

About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Robert Syme and I am entering my second year as a part of the Meadows community. I'll be working in the Year 5/6 unit and more specifically in 5/6C. I am the Mathematics Learning Specialist at Meadows and enjoy all things Mathematics. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and daughter, running and walking my dog Ollie along with watching all things sport.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every student is capable of success when they feel safe, valued, and connected within their classroom. Each child arrives with unique strengths and potential, and it is my responsibility to support and develop these so they can become confident, independent learners.

I strive to build a positive and supportive learning environment where curiosity is encouraged, resilience is developed, and effort is celebrated. In our classroom, we prioritise respect, kindness, and collaboration, ensuring all students feel a genuine sense of belonging.

Consistent routines and clear expectations provide students with stability and readiness to learn. I am deeply committed to strengthening literacy and numeracy skills while also nurturing student wellbeing. Ultimately, I aim for every learner to feel confident in taking on challenges and to enjoy coming to school each day.
