School holidays

Well done everyone on making it through the first term. Particularly our Foundation students in their very first term of their school life! As we now enter the school holiday period please see some helpful tips and ideas to keep your children active and safe during this time.

With the school holidays just around the corner, it’s a great time for students and families to relax, recharge, and spend quality time together—away from screens. Here are some simple, tech-free ideas to enjoy the break:

  • Get outdoors: Visit local parks, beaches, or nature trails. Go for a bushwalk, have a picnic, or ride bikes together.
  • Creative play: Encourage drawing, painting, building, or craft activities using materials from around the house.
  • Cooking together: Try new recipes as a family—baking, preparing meals, or even creating a picnic spread.
  • Board games & puzzles: Dust off classic games or challenge each other with puzzles and brainteasers.
  • Reading time: Visit the library and let children choose books to enjoy at their own pace.
  • Backyard adventures: Set up a scavenger hunt, obstacle course, or simply enjoy imaginative play outside.
  • Community activities: Check out local events, markets, or holiday programs happening in your area.

Taking a break from technology can help children recharge, boost creativity, and strengthen family connections. We hope you enjoy a happy, active, and refreshing holiday!

We look forward to seeing everyone back at school ready for a great term ahead.
