It’s been wonderful to return for Term 2 and settle back into the routines of school life. There is a positive and calm atmosphere across the school, with students engaged and ready to learn. Classrooms are full of purposeful, hands-on learning experiences, and it has been fantastic to see students actively participating and building their skills across all areas.
Our Senior Secondary students have been working incredibly hard in preparation for the upcoming Mother’s Day / Special Person Stall.
Through this project, students have been developing a range of valuable skills. They have learned new design techniques to create items for sale, calculated material costs to determine pricing, and designed promotional posters to advertise the stall.
They are now ready to set up and run the stall for students across the school next week.
Well done to our Senior Secondary students for the effort, creativity, and teamwork that has gone into bringing this together.
From Monday 18 May to Friday 22 May, we will be celebrating Education Week.
This year’s theme is “Showcase Your School.” A team of staff has been planning a range of activities, with a focus on, 'Strengthening Communication through Student Engagement'.
We look forward to sharing and celebrating the great work happening across our school community during this week. We invite families to come and join activities on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons during this week. Please see further details about these on our Community Engagement page.
The 2026 Student Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) will be conducted between 11 May and 12 June. Students in Secondary and Senior Secondary will complete the survey with support from our Disability Inclusion Coordinator, Donna.
The AtoSS is an annual, voluntary survey provided by the Department of Education. It gives students the opportunity to share their experiences of school, including their learning, relationships, wellbeing, and engagement.
This feedback is highly valuable and supports both the school and the Department of Education to plan for continued improvement in student learning, wellbeing, and overall school experience.
Following discussions with our OHS team and School Council, we will be upgrading the soft fall surface in the secondary playground area. The current material will be replaced with rubber rock to improve safety and durability.
In addition, a shade sail will be installed over the black hammock swing, which is currently fully exposed to sunlight. This will help reduce heat and make the equipment safer and more comfortable for students to use.
Over the last break we installed 2 new activities on the ground in our primary area of the school. Students are enjoying jumping on and counting the numbers on the shapes and dragon.

The following school policies were reviewed at School Council in April:
