Mrs Holly Orchin
Welcome back to Term 2. We are very excited to have everyone back and eager to learn!
Organic Learning
We have started our new Organic Learning topic, ‘The Invention of Tomorrow: Shaping Our World with Technology’. The Engaging Theme: Exploring how historical inventions and modern technologies have shaped society, solved problems, and transformed daily life, with a focus on design thinking, digital systems, and the ethical use of innovation. Students have completed 1 week of the ‘Explore’ phase, displaying inquisitive thinking towards topics.
SRC (Student Representative Council)
We have started the process of bringing together an SRC at St Joseph’s. Year 6 leaders explained the importance of an SRC group in our school and what their role is. It’s all about ‘Having a Voice, Having Influence, Having Choice and Working Together’. Students voted for 1 person in each grade to represent SJS. We will be finalising results this week and will announce our SRC team at Friday's Assembly. Mr Myers will also be helping myself (Mrs Orchin) to ensure our SRC is sustainable and successful.
Living Well Learning Well
As we move into a busy Term 2, our ‘Living Well Learning Well’ framework continues to play an integral role in our school culture. While we continue to celebrate student growth through our ‘I Shine’ cards, a key goal for the SRC this term is to introduce new ways to promote student voice and peer recognition, ensuring our LWLW values are lived out in every corner of the school.
