KEY REMINDERS:
- Multicultural Day is on the 30th March - make sure to dress up in your cultural clothes and join in on the festivities!
Hi all, it’s Sudeep and Rhythm here with the recent addition of new basketball nets. It was an initiative we helped bring forward, aiming to give students more opportunities to stay active during breaks and enjoy sport in a more accessible way. Since being introduced, the nets have already had a positive impact, with more students getting involved, building skills, and creating a more engaging environment during recess and lunch.
Recently, we also held our Athletics Carnival, which was a highly successful and energetic event. Students had the opportunity to represent their houses, compete in a variety of track and field events, and show strong school spirit throughout the day. A big highlight was the enthusiasm shown through house chants, with students coming together to cheer loudly and support one another. It was great to see so many students proudly wearing their house colours, which helped create a vibrant and unified atmosphere across the entire carnival.
Looking ahead, Multicultural Day is coming up and will be an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the diversity within our school community. The event will feature a variety of activities, including cultural performances, sports, and interactive displays that reflect different backgrounds and traditions. Each group will be presenting their planned contributions, allowing students to take an active role in sharing their culture and educating others. This not only creates a more inclusive and respectful environment, but also encourages students to broaden their perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of the people around them. Overall, Multicultural Day aims to strengthen the sense of community within the school by bringing everyone together to appreciate and celebrate cultural diversity.
Hey everyone, it’s Clarise and Marcus here with a quick update.
The Athletics Carnival was one of the major sporting events we supported in, it proved to be a highly successful and well-supported day. Students participated across a full range of track and field events, demonstrating commitment, resilience, and strong house pride. A key highlight was the intensity and organisation of house chants, which played a major role in building atmosphere and motivating competitors throughout the day. The visible effort to coordinate chants and the strong presence of students wearing their house colours significantly enhanced the sense of competition and identity between houses. Overall, the carnival reflected strong engagement and contributed to a positive and high-energy school culture.
For Multicultural Day, we will be coordinating a series of sporting competitions where teams represent different countries. This initiative is designed to combine physical activity with cultural awareness by allowing students to compete under international identities rather than their usual house groups. The activities will focus on teamwork, participation, and inclusivity, while also encouraging students to engage with and appreciate global cultures in a practical and interactive way. By linking sport with cultural representation, the aim is to create an environment that is both competitive and educational, while maintaining strong student involvement throughout the day.
Hey guys, it’s Trishala and Kavya, your stewardship leaders!
Trishala here! I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer at St Luke’s Open Day. It was really rewarding working with the younger grades and seeing how engaged they were in the activities. Attending the Lifted Leaders event also gave me a lot of inspiration for new stewardship ideas moving forward, especially around how we can take more responsibility for our school environment and community impact.
Kavya here! I’ve also really enjoyed seeing how our school community has been stepping up recently. Being part of stewardship has shown me how small actions can actually lead to meaningful change, whether that’s helping organise events, supporting others, or encouraging more sustainable habits around the school. It’s been really motivating to work alongside students who genuinely care about making a difference.
As mentioned before, we are working on a few upcoming initiatives. We are most excited for developing an upcoming Clean Up Day, where students will come together in their house groups to help clean different areas of the school grounds. This initiative is about more than just picking up litter, it’s about building pride in our school environment, encouraging teamwork, and developing a shared responsibility for keeping our campus clean and sustainable.
We are also so grateful for the effort you have put into donating for Social Justice Day. This directly connects to stewardship because it reflects the idea of looking beyond ourselves and actively contributing to the wellbeing of others in our wider community. Every donation represents care, empathy, and responsibility, key values of stewardship and shows that as a school, we are committed to supporting people who may be facing disadvantage or hardship.
Connectivity and Inclusion
“Diversity is not about how we differ. Diversity is about embracing one another’s uniqueness.” - Ola Joseph
Hi, it’s Simran and Natasha, your Connectivity and Inclusion Leaders, here with another update on the Net. In the spirit of Multicultural Day, we invite you to take a moment to appreciate the richness of our multi-faith community and to celebrate not just what makes us different, but what brings us together as people.
Over the last few weeks, we have been working on a range of initiatives across our school community, all centred around inclusion, connection, and student voice. One of the highlights has been our involvement in interviewing students from all stages of St Luke’s diverse community for Multicultural Day. Through these interviews, we aimed to share just a glimpse of the many cultures, perspectives, and experiences within our school. More importantly, this project allowed us to promote inclusion and celebrate the diversity that makes St Luke’s such a welcoming place. We are really excited for this video to be showcased during one of the school’s most important events, Multicultural Day.
Alongside this, we also had the opportunity to film videos for Social Justice Day in collaboration with JSS, as well as Mission and Faith leaders, Summer and Tim. These interviews highlighted the strong sense of community spirit within our school and gave students a chance to share their understanding and reflections on the importance of social justice. It was a meaningful experience to work together across leadership groups and hear from so many of you.
We are truly grateful for the chance to connect with and learn from the students of St Luke’s through these initiatives, and we are looking forward to being involved in even more opportunities like this in the future. With Multicultural Day coming up, we encourage everyone to get involved by wearing traditional clothing and proudly representing your culture. It is a great way to show just how inclusive, respectful, and diverse our school community really is.
Together, let’s continue to build a school where everyone feels seen, valued and connected.
Creative Arts & Cultural
Hey, it’s your Creative and Cultural leaders, Jonas and Asmika, and we’re here to bring you another update on what we’ve been working on.
As you all know, we have multicultural day next Monday, 30th March. In preparation, we ran an activity with the Year 2s called ‘Culture on a Plate’, where they got to craft their favourite cultural dishes out of coloured paper, pipe cleaners, paper plates and coloured felt fabric. We began by reading a book called ‘My Food, Your Food’ by Lisa Bullard to learn the importance of food and how it’s used to celebrate different cultures. Then, they went off into their table groups, gathered the necessary resources, and began crafting their dishes. It was great to see how engaged they were with the activity and all the various cultural dishes they crafted!
Thanks so much for reading! We look forward to seeing your cultural clothing and performances next week!
Mission & Faith
Hi everyone, it’s Tim and Summer from Mission & Faith Development!
Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to for the past few weeks and reflections we want to share with you :)
We had the pleasure of doing tours at Open Day on the 5th of March, welcoming prospective students and their families into our school. It was genuinely enjoyable having an opportunity to work with different year groups to talk with these guests, show them around, and share what makes our school such a great place—especially with the facilities that have been built over the years. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day run smoothly!

Thank you for dressing up in mufti and donating to Jesuit Social Services for Social Justice Day two weeks ago! We interviewed around the school that day with one of our Connectivity and Inclusion leaders (Simran), finding out what students donated and their awareness of the cause that they’re donating for. It’s incredible to see how our school has come together with our individual acts of generosity to collectively bring comfort, dignity, and a sense of support to real lives in our community —families who are struggling to make ends meet can now have one less worry knowing they have essential supplies on hand.
The spread of JSS donations! Thanks for every toiletry and piece of food that was brought in :)

As we’re all approaching the final week of Lent, we hope that these 40 days have been a fruitful time of growth, reflection, and connection. We’re looking forward to the Stations of the Cross liturgy with the School of Leadership and Entrepreneurs next Wednesday to draw a close to Lent as a community. Though the Lenten season is ending, may we continue to be inspired to live out our values, show kindness to others, and carry the lessons we’ve learned into our everyday lives—whether it be through pausing to ground ourselves for a few minutes each day, or taking up every small opportunity to make life easier for the people around us.
Colossians 4:23
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
The first term of 2026 has been hectic, with schoolwork feeling overwhelming for many of us. Colossians 4:23 reminds us that while some tasks may have stretched us, each one was an opportunity to develop character. Putting our heart into these tasks was a way of serving God; there is value in the effort itself,
not just the grade. Looking back, we can realise how much progress we’ve made in only the first quarter of the year, through the skills and resilience we’ve strengthened along the way. For now, we can rest and continue to remember this as we move on from the term.
Wellbeing
Hey St Luke’s community, it's your Wellbeing Leaders Joshita and Kuldeep!
The wellbeing portfolio continues to support the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of our school community, and we are excited to share a quick update on the progress of our initiatives.
Over the past week, we have been working closely with YCS (Young Christian Students) to begin implementing our fortnightly wellbeing advisory workshops. We have sent out a Google Form to gather student feedback and ensure the workshops meet the needs of our school community, and we have also started our marketing process. These workshops are currently in progress and are planned to begin next term.
In addition, we have been supporting our Year 7 students during Morning Hybrid Hub Check-in Crew sessions by providing study tips and guidance on assessment task preparation. This has allowed us to work directly with students and help them feel more confident and prepared with their learning.
As our initiative continues to develop, we are excited to keep building a supportive and positive environment for all students at St Luke’s.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
House Leaders
Hey! It’s your Einstein, Da Vinci, Mackillop, Teresa, Curie, and King house leaders coming to you with major news in the development of building house spirit. It’s been an incredible couple of weeks for our houses.
A couple of weeks ago, we held our first ‘House trivia,' where participants from each house had the chance to show off their knowledge in a quiz showdown. Students from the younger and older years huddled together, answering questions about their house patrons (Marie Curie, Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King, Mary MacKillop, and Mother Teresa). It was a great chance for students to earn house points and build house spirit as a starting initiative.
On Tuesday, the 24th of March, we held our second athletics carnival, which was a major success, an experience that bonded students from every grade. Whether on the track, in the field, or in the grandstands, every house showed up and excelled in cheering, sprinting, discus, shot put, tug-of-war, and chant-offs. Congratulations to Da Vinci, Teresa, and Mackillop House for winning the house chant-offs.
