Principal's Message

St Luke's... "nurturing faith filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world."

As we come to the close of Term 1, I want to reflect on what has been a truly energising start to 2026 at St Luke’s.

From the very first week, our students have shown a genuine commitment to their learning. Across all stages of the College, there has been a noticeable shift in focus and engagement in classrooms, and our teaching staff have remarked on the quality of conversations happening between students and their teachers. This is exactly the kind of learning culture we are building at St Luke’s — one where every student is known, supported, and challenged to grow.

A highlight of the term has been the election and commissioning of our 2026 Student Leaders. These young people have already begun to make their mark, representing our College with pride and purpose. Their willingness to serve others and lead by example reflects the values we hold dear at St Luke’s, and I look forward to seeing all that they will achieve this year.

Our recent Open Day was another proud moment for our community. Families from across the region were able to experience firsthand what makes St Luke’s special — our outstanding facilities, our dedicated staff, and most importantly, our students. It was our students who truly shone on the day, guiding visitors through the College, speaking confidently about their learning, and showcasing the breadth of opportunities available here. They were wonderful ambassadors, and the feedback from visiting families was overwhelmingly positive.

Everything we do at St Luke’s is guided by the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese vision of learning that forms, informs, and transforms. Our Uplift framework calls us to educate the whole person — the Head, the Heart, and the Hands — so that every student leaves our College not only academically capable, but compassionate, resilient, and ready to contribute to the world around them. Alongside this, our Strive, Thrive, Learn approach ensures that the right supports are in place for every learner, whether they need extension or additional care. When you see your children growing in confidence and curiosity, know that this work is at the centre of everything their teachers do each day.

As we prepare for the Easter break, we turn our hearts to the most sacred time in the Church’s liturgical calendar. Holy Week invites us to walk with Jesus through his suffering, death, and resurrection. It is a season that reminds us of the transforming power of hope — that even in moments of darkness and uncertainty, new life is possible. For our school community, Easter is a powerful reminder that growth often comes through challenge, and that we are never alone on the journey. I encourage all families to find time during the break to reflect on the Easter story and what it means for your own lives.

On behalf of the staff at St Luke’s, I wish every family a safe, restful, and happy holiday. We look forward to welcoming our students back for what promises to be an equally rewarding Term 2.
