STAGE 3
5MZ, 5Q, 6C, 6MS
Stage 3 have had a very busy start to the term already. Our teachers and students have been working extremely hard with their learning. We are proud of their achievements so far and want to give you a little peek into what has been happening recently.
Muffins with Mum - Friday 8th May
Stage 3 Camp - Monday 11th May - Wednesday 13th May
K-6 Assembly (Year 5 item) - Friday 22nd May
3-6 Assembly at 2pm - Thursday 4th June
Stage 3 Spelling Bee Final - Thursday 11th June
Our Year 5 students recently completed their multimodal texts based on the text Bright New World. Working collaboratively, they designed, drafted, and produced posters about their chosen area and included features such as maps, tables and diagrams to enhance their ideas.

Year 5 students explored practical maths by using trundle wheels to measure various distances around the school. After gathering their measurements, students worked together to convert their findings between metres (m) and kilometres (km), deepening their understanding of units and real-world problem solving.

Year 6 have been developing a deeper understanding of fractions by comparing, adding and subtracting them and applying them to real-world contexts. Through problem-solving and hands-on learning, they are building confidence to apply these skills in meaningful and practical situations.

We have kicked off our Art unit by exploring the elements of art, including line, shape, colour and texture. Students are beginning to understand how artists use these elements to create meaning and express ideas in their work. Stay turned for our final pieces later in the term.

To conclude their Wild Robot unit, Year 5 students expressed their learning through an engaging art activity. Using elements such as line, shape, colour, and space, they created their own unique artworks inspired by the story.
