STAGE 2
3A, 3PO, 4L, 4PJ
We have had a very busy start to the term already! Our teachers and students have been working extremely hard with their learning. We are proud of their achievements so far and want to give you a little peek into what has been happening in Stage 2.
Muffins with Mum - Friday 8th May
3-6 Basketball Clinic - Thursday 21st May
Stage 2 Science Incursion - Tuesday 2nd June
Stage 2 Spelling Bee Final - Thursday 4th June
3-6 Assembly 2pm - Thursday 4th June
Every day, students do a series of mini-lessons in spelling, reading fluency, sentence writing, vocabulary, handwriting and reading comprehension. These mini-lessons are related to the book each class is reading. Year 3 are reading 'Wandi' by Favel Parrett. Year 4 are reading 'Ned Kelly and the Green Sash' by Mark Greenwood. Take a peek at our classes working hard below!

To begin Term 2, Year 3 are learning about data and graphs. They will collect and organise date in a table, and learn how to construct graphs to represent the data. For example, column graphs. Year 4 are learning about fractions. They will represent fractions on a number line, learn about equivalent fractions and fractions greater than one. For example, one and one-third. Check out our Year 3 students working hard on constructing their column graphs!

This term, Stage 2 students are learning about solids, liquids and gases. Our upcoming incursion in Week 7 will further consolidate their learning. Below are some photos of 4L demonstrating how molecules behave differently in solids, liquids and gases. 4PJ conducted a (messy!) investigation to help them determine if custard is a solid or a liquid.
