Faith, Family, Friendship
Each morning at Holy Spirit we begin our day with Christian meditation and prayer. This is a wonderful opportunity for our classes to come together peacefully in the morning, invite god into their hearts and prepare everyone for a busy day of learning. Please be mindful that meditation begins at 9:00 in the morning.
This year we will continue with Wednesday class masses. These are held in the Chapel at 9:15 am. Families are warmly invited to join classes for these Masses. Tea and and coffee is available after Mass in the Parish house. We do ask that you don't bring coffee into the Church or Chapel.

On Wednesday 18th February we will gather as a whole school (minus our new Preps who will be having a rest day) to celebrate the beginning of the school year and recognise the beginning of Lent. Mass will be at 11:40 in the Church. All welcome.
Shrove Tuesday marks the day before Lent begins and is a time to prepare our hearts for Ash Wednesday. The word “shrive” means to confess and be forgiven, reminding us to turn back to God.
Traditionally, pancakes are shared as families used up rich foods before the season of Lent. Shrove Tuesday invites us to reflect on how we can grow in prayer, kindness and generosity as we begin our Lenten journey toward Easter.
This year our wonderful 1/2 team will be making pancakes for the whole school., Students are invited to bring a small donation to support Project Compassion. This is a simple way for our community to live out the values of compassion, generosity and care for others during Lent.

Welcome to a New Year. We especially warmly welcome our Prep children and any other new families to Holy Spirit and of course, to our returning students. We hope you enjoy your years with us.
The Parish House Office is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We are not open Mondays or Thursdays. Our weekend masses are on Saturday 6pm and Sunday at 9am and in the Chapel at 5pm. We also have weekday masses on Wednesday and Friday at 9.15 am in the Chapel. All are welcome to attend.
Lent begins soon on Ash Wednesday 18th February. This year we are running a Lenten program if you would like to deepen and grow your faith with several groups on offer. There are sign-up sheets in both the Church and Chapel where you can add your name if you are interested. If you want to do something worthwhile for yourself this Lent, then this journey is for you!
This weekend we have the first St Vincent de Paul $2.00 collection weekend. There will be collectors at the door after each mass, so please give generously.
The Prep Parish Welcome Dinner will be held on Friday 20 February at 7.00pm. This is a cherished School and Parish tradition, where our current Prep families are warmly welcomed by the community, with previous Prep families cooking and hosting the evening.
Have a lovely week.
Blessings from the Parish House.
