Learning

As Friday 13th February comes to a close, our students have completed 12 days of learning at Balambalam (10 days for our Foundation students). We are incredibly proud of how well they have settled into school life.
Starting at a new school brings new people, spaces and routines, and our students have shown great confidence, curiosity and care for one another as they begin building friendships and a strong sense of belonging.
Over the past two weeks, classes have been participating in our start-of-year program, Butterfly Beginnings. This program focuses on building the foundations that support learning across the whole year. During this time, students have been learning:
- classroom routines and what successful learning looks like
- school expectations and values in action
- how to work independently and with others
how to talk about their learning and ask for help
We have also begun introducing learning in reading, writing and mathematics in structured and supportive ways, helping students build strong learning habits early in the year.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping students arrive ready to learn each day. We are so proud of how our students have started their journey at Balambalam and are excited for the learning still to come this year.
