PE This Term

This year, we warmly welcome Ms Elborough to our school community. Ms Elborough will be teaching Physical Education for students in Years 3–6. With previous experience teaching PE, she is excited to work with our students to build their skills and support the development of healthy, active lifestyles.

I am looking forward to working alongside Ms Elborough with 3/4 Ross, and I will also be teaching PE for Prep–Year 2 students. In these sessions, the focus will be on developing fundamental movement skills while fostering a positive attitude and enjoyment of physical activity. Prep–Year 2 students will also participate in an additional sports session on Fridays when clubs are not running.

Staying Active and Healthy

The Victorian physical activity guidelines recommend that school-aged children participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day. This can include activities such as active play, sport, walking, bike riding or games that get children moving and slightly out of breath.

The guidelines also recommend limiting recreational screen time to no more than 2 hours per day. Balancing screen time with physical activity supports children’s physical health, wellbeing and learning.

We encourage families to support healthy habits by finding enjoyable ways to be active together and by promoting a healthy balance between movement and screen use at home  to support their health and wellbeing.

Looking foward to a great year!

Kinect 2 Dance

In week 4 all students will participate in Dance workshops each day. On Friday parents will be invited in to enjoy a performance at 9am (coffee van will be available from 8.15am and classrooms will be open at 8.30am for parents to meet their childs teachers and have a look in thier rooms). We are looking foward to seeing our students get their 'groove on'.
