Safety, Respect and Learning

As part of our school induction for 2026, staff completed the final day of Berry Street Trauma Informed Practice professional learning. This evidence based program supports a shared and consistent approach across our school, helping staff to better understand the impact of trauma, stress, and adversity on children’s learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Through this learning, staff deepen their understanding of how to create calm, predictable, and supportive environments where all students feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.
The final day was highly interactive and practical, with a strong focus on hands on learning, team building, and professional reflection. Staff worked collaboratively to explore real life scenarios, practise strategies, and reflect on how these approaches can be embedded consistently across classrooms and learning spaces. The learning also reinforced practical, proactive strategies that help students regulate emotions, build resilience, and develop positive relationships.

This shared professional learning strengthens our collective capacity to support every child in our care and aligns with our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and positive learning environments.
