Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jnr Update

Our MECS Primary School’s production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jnr is set to go off in three weeks! What a ride it’s been so far. We started with a show that was just words and music on the page. This slowly came to life as our main cast was chosen, rehearsals began, classes started to learn their songs and dances, and backstage team got into full swing. Now Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jnr is ready to fly – just like the famous car herself. As I write this, the cast is refining and polishing their songs and dances and gaining confidence with every rehearsal. It is exciting to see how far they have come. 

The younger students are excited about their songs and items and are singing up a storm during music classes. With every student in the Primary School involved, this show promises to delight and tantalise the senses. From happy, family-oriented tunes, rollicking fun fair numbers, to showstoppers like Toot Sweets and the Latin-inspired Bombie Samba (direct from the beaches of Brazil), each item highlights a different class in the primary school.

The sets, the props, the costumes are a feast for the eyes – and it is all coming together in readiness for show week. We even have a 'Candy Shoppe' which will be open before each show and during interval to enjoy a sweet treat.

The Show will run on the following dates:

Wednesday 21 August matinee at 1.30pm, 

Thursday 22 August 1.30pm matinee and 7.00pm evening, and 

Friday 23 August 7.00pm evening.
