From the classroom

100 Days of Prep
Last Tuesday, the 30th July, our youngest students celebrated a very important milestone… 100 Days of School! All year students have been eagerly counting and waiting for our class party. We celebrated the day with an activity morning where students decorated their very own ‘Prep Cape’, created a class book, coloured a very important 100 Days of School Crown and practised their counting to 100 skills with Cheerios.
After play students enjoyed a delicious cupcake and participated in a round of karaoke!
Sustainability
This year our school has been looking at setting up a new vegetable garden. We ordered some ‘Foodcubes’ which are garden beds made from recycled materials and received them at the end of Term 2.
In the first couple of weeks this term our sustainability team, and some other student helpers were busy putting the Foodcubes together. This involved moving them into position, assembling all the parts, filling the Foodcubes with soil and then filling them up with water. This week we had our first lot of plants arrive which the students planted into the Foodcubes.
A special mention and big thanks to Ms Blackman’s mum, Liz, for educating us about the different plants, assisting with planting them and tidying up the existing vegetable garden.
We look forward to seeing our plants and vegetables grow, and hopefully getting to eat some of them soon!
ART
Grade 3/4 have been working with air-dry clay to make an Olympic gold medal for their chosen sport.
