Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome
I would like to give a warm welcome to Ned Nihill, a pre-service teacher who has started his placement in Mr. Irwin's grade 3/4 classroom this week. We are lucky enough to have Ned here for all of this term.
Prep 100 Days of school
Congratulations to our Prep students who last week clocked over their 100th day of attending school. It was great to see students having fun dressed up and engaging in lots of 100 themed activities! This week they were presented with certificates to recognise and highlight their achievement.
Berry St Day 2 Report
Our staff had a very productive day on Friday 2nd August, where together we gained a greater understanding of how to support our students inside and outside of the classroom. The day was all about relationships and was full of helpful strategies, new learnings and reminders of how we can 'be the calm' in the room. How and when to use mindfulness and brain-breaks and developing our ability to use 'one liners' and 'Golden statements' to bring out the best in our students as a group and as individuals. Lisa, our presenter was very motivating and engaging, so the day was over before we knew it. Thank you to the our families for supporting this day.

Intensive Swimming Program
Next week our P-2 intensive-swimming program begins from Monday 12th and runs through to Friday. Our Grade 3-6 students will begin their swimming week on Monday 19th . This important program builds confidence in and around the water as well as ensuring our students learn the curriculum around water safety. It also supports students with self-care, management, resilience and independence strategies, and provides an opportunity to learn with students outside the classroom environment.
Book Week Parade
Book week is coming up (17th -23rd), but due to grade 3-6 swimming program in week 6, we will celebrate with Book Week activities, including the annual dress up parade on Monday 26th August. Our School Assembly will move to the morning that day starting at 9:10am, followed by our parade. We will have free coffees from the coffee van available for the adults from 8:30am onwards.
