Dear Parents and Carers,
Last Monday, our school hosted Mr. Attila Lendvai - Learning Leader from the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Office. Mr. Lendvai spent time visiting classrooms and observing the wonderful teaching and learning taking place at our school.
During his visit, Mr. Lendvai was impressed with the direction we are heading in. He particularly noted the dedication and enthusiasm of our staff and students, and how our educational initiatives are positively impacting student engagement and learning outcomes.
His feedback reaffirms that our collective efforts are making a significant difference in creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment for all our students.
We look forward to continuing our work with energy and focus, knowing that we are on the right path to providing the best education for your children.
Thank you for being part of this exciting chapter in our school’s development.
As our children become more connected through technology, it is crucial that we, as parents and educators, ensure their safety online. Here are a few tips to help keep your children safe:
Social media platforms such as FaceBook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat have an age restriction of 13+. This means that no child that comes to St Margaret Mary’s should have access to these apps. Remember, taking action now can prevent incidents that are much harder to address after they’ve occurred. Please be aware of your child’s behaviour online.
Earlier in the year, the police came and spoke to the students on Cyber Safety and discussed how to stay safe on the internet. It is important that this is reinforced at home.
Congratulations to our STEM students who won the STEM Mad challenge and we now represent the diocese at Nationals that will take place later in the year in Brisbane. The competition featured 94 schools from across CSPD school and celebrated innovation, creativity and collaboration. A special thank you to Mrs Mary Chetty who worked with the students in preparing for the event.
To celebrate Father’s Day, the P&F will be hosting our annual Father’s Day Stall on Wednesday, August 28th. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a small gift for their dads, grandfathers, or father figures. Gifts will be priced between $1, $5 and $10, with a variety of options available.
On Friday 30th August we will be having a special liturgy for our dad’s at 8.40am followed by morning tea in the hall. We look forward to seeing many dad’s come along.
We are excited about these upcoming events and look forward to your participation and support. These activities are a fantastic way to engage students in both literacy and numeracy while also celebrating the special people in their lives.
Thank you for your continued involvement in our school community.
Kind Regards,
Grace
