CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

A Heartfelt Welcome: Our Youngest Learners and the Sacrament of Baptism
In our Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2 classrooms, the air has been filled with a special kind of warmth lately. Our students have been exploring the beautiful theme of Welcoming, specifically through the lens of the Sacrament of Baptism.
In the Living Well, Learning Well framework, we speak often about the importance of being 'Valued, Respected, and Cared For.' A spiritual reflection of this is Baptism—the moment we are officially welcomed into God’s family.
Our K–2 students have been investigating the signs and symbols of this Sacrament, discovering that because God welcomes us all without exception, we are called to do the same for our peers in the classroom and the playground.
Our Lenten Journey: A Time for Growth
As a whole school community, we are currently journeying through the season of Lent. This is a significant time in our liturgical calendar where we are invited to pause, reflect on our actions, and seek ways to follow more closely in the footsteps of Christ.
Lent is not simply about giving things up; it is an invitation to take things up—to take up more kindness, more intentional prayer, and more heartfelt care for those in need.
In our classrooms, we are discussing how these 40 days of preparation help us to clear a space in our hearts for the profound joy of Easter.
Compassion in Action
As part of our Lenten journey, we are once again supporting Project Compassion. This annual appeal by Caritas Australia allows our students to put their faith into action. By donating to our Project Compassion boxes, our families help provide life-changing support to communities both in Australia and overseas. It is a practical way for our students to show they care for our global neighbours and to walk with those who face daily challenges.
Home Connection
This week, perhaps you could ask your child: "How can we show a 'Great Welcome' to someone new this Lent?"
