Navigating Rhythms
As we begin a new year and term, we warmly welcome many new children and families into our Early Learning Centre. During this time of transition, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the importance of our Daily Rhythm, which becomes especially meaningful as children and families settle into ELC life.
Across all classrooms, our routines are both predictable and flexible, thoughtfully designed to support each child’s individual needs. Our Daily Rhythm (Daily Routine) allows children to move gently through their day, supporting smooth transitions and providing time and space to process change and the emotions that may arise. These consistent rhythms foster a strong sense of safety, helping children feel secure, confident, and ready to learn.
Throughout each day at ELC, children participate in a play-based program enriched by intentional teaching and meaningful group experiences. These experiences build and extend children’s understanding across key learning areas, including literacy, numeracy, Indigenous perspectives, and Christian studies. These elements are thoughtfully reflected not only in our programs but also within our learning environments, drawing inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, where children’s curiosity, voice, and capabilities are deeply valued.
Our practices align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which emphasises Belonging, Being, and Becoming. In particular, our Daily Rhythm supports children’s sense of belonging and wellbeing, while encouraging them to grow as confident and involved learners. This also strongly reflects our college focus for the year, as previously shared by our Executive Principal. Our hope is that every child develops a deep understanding that they are Relentlessly Pursued, Ridiculously Celebrated, and Unconditionally Loved by God.
As Scripture reminds us: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
We pray that as children settle into the rhythm of life at ELC, they experience a strong sense of belonging and security, and that their learning, faith, and awareness of the world around them continue to flourish.

Isla, the youngest talent at the ECC Art Exhibition
We're extremely proud of our ELC student Isla, who created a beautiful artwork during the holidays to participate in the Emmaus Art Exhibition.
Well done, Isla! We can't wait to see your talent growing in the next years.
