South Plympton Library Opening Times

Monday - Friday: 8:20am - 8:35am and 3:10pm - 3:30pm. All students welcome.

It is also open every lunchtime for Junior School students, and at both recess and lunchtime for Secondary students. Junior classes visit the library once a week, where we enjoy a story together before students borrow books to take home.

We are excited for the year ahead in the South Plympton Library, with lots of wonderful reading experiences planned for our students. We are especially looking forward to celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime and Book Week later in the year, as we continue to encourage a love of books and stories across the school.

Secondary students are welcome to borrow during breaks, and they also visit regularly with their English classes to support their reading and learning.

Register to Volunteer at Emmaus

Volunteers are an integral part of our community, giving their time, skills and expertise in various ways.

If you desire to inspire young people and see them flourish, we encourage you to apply to volunteer. There are many ways you can volunteer at Emmaus, such as excursions, camps, sports team assistance and classroom learning support and many more.

We will then email you with all the information you need, along with a link to our online volunteer induction.

If you have any questions, please contact us at volunteer@emmauscc.sa.edu.au or call 8292 3888.

NAPLAN 2026

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a literacy and numeracy assessment that students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit each year. These tests will take place between the 11th and 23rd of March. All tests are completed online on student Chromebooks (except for the Year 3 Writing test). Students will complete an online NAPLAN practice test in Week 5 to familiarise themselves with the digital format.

At Emmaus, we see these tests as an opportunity for our College to evaluate our teaching and learning program against the national and state benchmarks. As with all school assessments, we encourage students to try their best at NAPLAN; however, we do not place any extra pressure on our young people during this time. Any test preparation is meant to help students become comfortable in the testing environment. It is not necessary for your child to do any extra NAPLAN practice at home, as this can often add unnecessary stress.

We believe it is more beneficial for our students to focus on their regular schoolwork and continue to have a broad range of interests outside of school. Thank you for partnering with us in this endeavour. For more information about NAPLAN, please see the attachments below:

Have you read the Student Daily Guidelines for 2026?

The start of the school year is a great time to familiarise yourself with the Student Daily Guidelines.

Please take the time to read the Guidelines and discuss them with your child/ren.

Thank you!

2026 Think U Know Cyber Safety Sessions

As part of our online safety education responsibilities towards our families and carers, we encourage parents to mark in their calendars the upcoming information sessions presented by Southern District Police in partnership with the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

Think U Know is a nationally delivered cyber safety program that supports parents and carers to:

  • Understand current online environments and risks faced by children and young people
  • Recognise warning signs of online harm
  • Learn practical strategies to help keep children safe online
  • Know where to access support and report concerns

The sessions are free and will be held in three locations. Attendance registration is necessary via Eventbrite.
