Homework

Homework begins in week 4. Homework is to be done in the student’s homework book. The children will hand in their homework books every week. The day homework is handed out and returned will be different for each teacher depending on the class timetable to allow time for the teacher to correct the student’s work.

Home Reading

During week 3, we will begin with students using their diaries to record their reading. The children are expected to read for 20 minutes each night of the school week with a minimum of 3 nights. They are to record three nights of reading in their diary each week and once this has been done, they are to have their diary signed by a parent before handing it in. Diaries are due the same day as homework books.

 BYOD-iPad

Students are required to bring their iPads to school fully charged beginning week 3. The iPads will have been connected to the school system the previous week. The aim for the first week of iPads is to connect the students to Google Classroom, to get them in the routine of bringing their iPads fully charged each day and to know where to put their iPads in the classroom away from their desks when not in use. The students will also be practise turning off all notifications and will be continuing with cybersafety lessons to provide the guidance required to use the iPad safely. As a reminder, no messages are to be sent to the children during school hours. If you need to contact your child, please do it via emailing your teacher or contacting the office. During week 4, the student will be using their iPads everyday to support their learning both in the classroom and in specialist classes.
