Student Empowerment – A Great Start to the Year!

What an exciting start to the year we’ve had! Our students have been diving into some important lessons that set the stage for growth, empowerment and leadership in 2025.

In the classroom, we've been learning about emotions—what they look like, how they feel, and how they sound. Understanding and naming our emotions is a powerful tool for emotional intelligence. By recognising our feelings, we are better equipped to respond thoughtfully and empathetically, both for ourselves and others. This learning process is an essential part of personal development, and we’re excited to see how students continue to explore and express themselves.

In addition to emotional awareness, many students have been reflecting on their personal and cultural strengths. Understanding what makes us unique and how we can use these strengths to support our peers is a key part of building a positive and inclusive school community. Whether it’s through sharing our stories, helping others, or embracing diverse perspectives, students are discovering how their strengths can contribute to the well-being and success of everyone around them.

Our student leadership team is off to a fantastic start as well! This week, our school captains and vice school captains will be running their very first assembly. They are full of enthusiasm and ready to lead with purpose, and we can’t wait to see them shine in this new role. But that’s not all! In just a couple of weeks, our school captains and vice school captains will be attending a leadership conference to further develop their skills and bring fresh insights back to the school. They’ve already shown incredible dedication and we know they’re going to come back with even more ways to make this year one of growth and positivity. We’re so proud of how all our captains have embraced their roles and we look forward to seeing their ideas come to life throughout the year. With the support of all our students, teachers, and staff, 2025 is set to be a year filled with opportunities for empowerment, leadership, and connection.
