FIRST NATIONS EXCURSION TO THE BRIARS

A handful of year 7, 8 and 9 Koorie students were lucky enough to meet Josh again, this time at The Briars. Together with Cassie L and Carissa W, the three of them generously and with humour and passion shared some of their extensive knowledge and skills with Koorie students from surrounding schools. The students now know the answers to some of the following questions:
-What do fried meal worms taste like? (crispy, nutty, delicious!)
-Which plant can you use to wash your hands? (wattle leaves and seed pods)
-How to create saliva when thirsty and there is no water around? (Chew on she oak needles)
-How do you desinfect stitch together a cut? (Powdery dust inside paper bark and echidna spikes)
Students as a team also built a cool hut and attempted to make fire. They are already excited to learn about land management next time.
