Swimming Squad and District Swimming Update
We would like to congratulate all students who have committed themselves to the swimming squad over the past couple of months. Under the supervision of Ms French, Mrs Galgani and our team of parent helpers, our swimmers have been training twice weekly since late last year. It has been a wonderful opportunity for these students to increase their fitness, as part of a squad comprising of students from year 3 to 6.
This coming Tuesday the squad will compete at the District Swimming Championships. We wish them all the very best, knowing that regardless of the result, they will represent our school outstandingly.
Finally a very big thank you to Ms French, Mrs Galgani and all the parents who have made it possible for organising and supervising the squad throughout their training sessions.
Running Club
St Cecilia's Running Club is open to students from Years 3 to 6 who would like to have some fun, improve their fitness and challenge themselves. There will be a focus on stamina and technique for running, as well as some general fitness games and drills.
Running club will be held Thursday morning's, starting week 6- Thursday March 6, meeting at 7:50am at school for an 8am start- meeting on the SCG.
If you have more than one child intending to attend Running Club, please fill out the form once for EACH child (you can submit the form as many times as you require).
Please fill out the online registration form before the first session.
IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER please check emails and Audiri (please join the running club group on the app if your child is attending, instructions here) before leaving for school! Sessions may be cancelled and we will email by 7:30am due to the limited amount of indoor space to safely use with the number of attendees.
We also have St Cecilia's Running Club T-shirts available for purchase. If you wish to purchase one, please indicate on the form and then send $10 cash in a labelled envelope to the office. (This is completely optional) These shirts can be worn by the students during running club, after which they can change into their sports uniform top, ready for the school day.
Please Note: Yr 3-6 have their PE lessons on Wednesdays, but if they attend Running Club on a Thursday, they can wear their school uniform for the day as well.
Regards,
Mr Mooney, Ms French & Mrs Galgani
