A message from the BMGS Student Council
As we embrace the New Year, let’s look back at what our Student Council got up to in 2024 and what lies ahead in 2025.
Â
🚮More bins in the JCSC: By popular demand and with the help of our maintenance team, we placed more bins in our Student Learning Centre. Whilst bins don’t sound very glamorous, they go a long way in keeping our Student Centre clean and tidy, and a wonderful place to learn and hang out!
Â
🏀Repainting of the basketball courts outside Cuff Hall: The Student Council decided to allocate the money raised through our Colour Fun Run to improving our basketball court next to Cuff hall. We hope that this improved space will continue to be utilised during breaks for years to come!
Â
✨Launch of @ourbmgs: This year we launched our long-awaited student run Instagram account!
Â
đź’Focus group with Blue Mountains City Council: We spoke to representatives from the BMCC about the issues that are front of mind for young people in the Blue Mountains. We covered a range of issues from mental health to transport accessibility. It’s great to have a BMGS voice in crafting the future of our local area.
Â
OurBMGS: This year we launched our student-run Instagram account @ourbmgs. This account is a way for us to celebrate student achievements, promote upcoming events and keep everyone in the loop!
