2023 Fair

Fair Thank You

It has been a couple of weeks since the Rosanna Primary Old School Fair and I am still on a high from it.

It was a wonderful day, the weather smiled on us, and most importantly, everyone looked like they were having a great time.

The fair could not have been such a success without a small but determined group of parents and carers who volunteered their time and expertise. My job, co-ordinating these amazing humans was such a pleasure, and I really feel indebted to each and every one of them.

My fellow fair coordinators, the area coordinators, and the stall coordinators all pitched in and gave it their all in the months before hand, the intensity of the weeks before hand, and of course on the day. I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. The year we have spent together has forged and cemented friendships and bonds that I am grateful for as well. A lovely bonus from working together so closely is that we all got to know each other, and we can now walk through the school and recognise familiar faces, and have a quick chat at assembly and school drop offs. I say to you all, We did it and it was amazing!

To all the parents and carers who gave their time helping volunteer at stalls as well as setting up and packing down, thank you also. Many hands make light work and each one of you shouldered the burden of the stall coordinators so they didn’t have to do it alone. I also most sincerely hope that you had fun helping out and meeting new people. There were many others who helped out around the school grounds doing other things as well, collecting money, emptying rubbish bins, spotting vehicles entering and exiting, setting up the stage, putting up signage, and helping set up the food area (plus many other things!) Your efforts did not go unnoticed. Thank you!

And to all those who baked a cake, planted a seedling, baked a batch of scones, purchased a block of chocolate (or 5!), donated books and other goods, played or sang on the stage, and the many, many other things that the school community pitched in to do, I thank you as well. All of these donations helped immensely to contribute to our profits and fun on the day.

If you would like to continue this school connection, there will be many other FORPS events held next year. I encourage you to come to some FORPS meetings and get involved. It really is so rewarding. You can also join the FORPS email list (email Kym at kym56@hotmail.com) and Whatsapp group (text me on 0413218761)

We would also love all parents and carers to fill in this short survey so we can improve the fair for next time. https://forms.gle/yhyuU4hw43QWu9do9

Now, drum roll…

The final figures have taken a couple of weeks to come in as Kim in the office has been busy tallying each stall and paying invoices that have come in over the past few weeks. I am very pleased and astounded to report that the profit that the 2023 Rosanna Primary

Old School Fair made is…

$35,843

What an incredible effort from all!

Well done, and now we rest (ready for the next one to start planning for in 2025!)

I hope to see many of you at the Picnic on Friday night.

Cheers, Jackie (on behalf of all on the fair committee)
