Year 10 French

On the Thursday 30 November The French Loop came to MGSC to run a French Improv class. This was a valuable opportunity for our Year 10 French students to participate actively in French through the art of spontaneous acting. The students had fun and through this workshop developed their ability to speak and listen in French. This activity is subsided by the AFTV through DET funding.

"During the Improvisation Incursion, we played a variety of different French games and activities, teaching us the importance of failing in order to learn. The incursion was extremely useful in helping us in rehearsing our French comprehension on the spot. We also developed new strategies to help practise and learn new vocabulary in a fun, engaging and different way."

Zoe Muscat (Year 10)

Language Assistant

We have been fortunate to have a DET-funded French Language Assistant working at our school two days since Term 2. Marie Castel is from the region of Normandy in France and she has been working principally with our VCE French students to help them hone their conversational skills. Their fluency and confidence have grown enormously and they have all really appreciated her feedback and encouragement!

Marie is finishing at the end of the year so on behalf of the Languages Domain and French students, we would like to thank her for all her work and wish her bon voyage!

We are excited to announce that we will have a Japanese Language Assistant in 2024 starting in Term 2.
