Literacy and Numeracy
Yes- Mathematics can continue in the holidays.
Thank you for all of the questions and comments about mathematics this year.
Don't forget - just because it is holidays, doesn't mean that the mathematics has to stop.
What a great opportunity for some real-life mathematics.
For example, if you driving to a holiday destination you could:
-estimate how long 1 km takes
-guess the price of fuel when you fill up
-read a map
-add up the numbers on a car number plate that you pass
-decide what you will buy with $5
The list is endless!!
Have a wonderful break.
Thanks

Thank you and Farewell
Five years have passed in what seems a blink of an eye! For five years, St James has been my happy place. This has been such a wonderful community to be part of!
I thank you for always making me feel welcomed here. Chatting to families whilst on gate duty was always a pleasure. Working with many of your children as a Prep/Year 4 teacher only strengthened these connections. Thank you!
In my time at St James I have grown as an educator, a leader and also as a parent. COVID tested us but we did it!
I hope that our paths may cross in the future and I wish you all the best for the future.
Keep reading and loving to learn!
