Last night's performances at POPS were truly inspiring. The talent showcased by our singers, musicians, and dancers promises a bright future for these performers. Congratulations to all students who took the stage – you should be proud!
Miss Sarah and Mrs Bowen's dedication elevated the quality of performances at POPS. Their commitment, seen in numerous lunch sessions, exemplifies the promotion of student voice and ownership. Allowing every student to shine, regardless of their experience, which is vital for their personal growth and self-esteem. Sincere thanks to Mrs Bowen and Miss Sarah for their invaluable efforts.
The Art Show in the foyer, curated by Mrs Moore, was a visual delight, showcasing the talent of many POPS artists. Mrs Moore's engaging art program encourages the best from every student. Special thanks to Hazel R for her steadfast support of Mrs Moore and the school's Art program. Mrs Moore and Hazel R efforts are sincerely appreciated by the entire community.
Mrs Moore's People Choice Awards recognised outstanding student contributions to the Art Show. Congratulations to April B (F), Rosie R (Yr2), Nicholas G-P (Yr4), and Damon K (Yr6) for their selected artworks. They will be honored during Monday's Aussie of the Month Assembly.
Last night's success was also made possible by the dedicated POPS staff. From Art Show preparations to performance space setup, creating programs, photography and sound assistance – our team shone brightly.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Art Show and Soiree. Your generous donations raised over $300.
Tuesday morning brought a delightful visit from the local Country Women's Association members. The Senior Choir, skillfully directed by Mrs Bowen, treated the ladies to a splendid performance. The choir not only delivered an exceptional show but also appreciated the handmade Christmas gifts from the guests. Particularly heartening was the sight of our senior students engaging in conversations with the ladies over a cup of tea. In line with our efforts to forge connections with the broader community, POPS has been dedicated to giving back through simple gestures this year. We would like to acknowledge the CWA for donating $250 to the school for new library books.
The 2024 Parent Payments, approved by the School Council, are now open for payment through Compass. Your contributions support various programs and facility maintenance. Exciting projects planned for next year include the library refurbishment, extending the Arts Centre's undercover walkway, and creating the Indigenous Sensory Garden.
Have a great weekend,
Ms Garrity (Principal)
