Literacy

In the next few weeks, we will continue to analyse the way Pip Harry has written poetic verses in 'The Little Wave'. Student will develop further their character / story maps and build connections with their own lives and other texts. We will then use a particular verse from the text as a guide to writing our own verse about ourselves.

We will continue to look at the etemology of words from the book and start investigating the origins of Christmas words and the different celebrations around the world at this time.

The level 3 students are finishing their Wellness plans based on our unit of work in Health and Science. We will have an internal Expo with the Level 2 students so we can pass on all our knowledge to support their smooth transition to Level 3.

Over the past 2 weeks Level 3 have ...

  • Raised their voices in support of many issues around the world. We used Greta Thunberg's speech to the UN as a mentor text. By analysing the language and sentence structure 3A and 3C jointly wrote their own speech about De-forestation. Greta's speech is on the blue and our speech in on the red. Students then chose an issue they were passionate about and wrote their own persuasive speech.

  • Enjoyed collecting data through Mr Daley's Ping Pong and Tennis Ball Pallooza! How many balls can we get in the bin from different distances. Data was generated, collected, tabled and graphed in our Maths books and also in Excel on our laptops!
