The Level 2 teachers are so proud of the effort our students have made learning so many new phonemes this semester! It has been wonderful to see students actively applying this learning while decoding new words during reading.
Here are some of the phonemes we have learnt this term... Ask your child to recite them for you!

As we step into the final two weeks of this school year, the enthusiasm is sustained as our Level 2 students continue to dive into the world of poetry. In recent weeks, they've delved into poetic devices like alliteration, simile, metaphor, rhyme, and imagery, crafting their own short poems along the way.
As we approach the end of our journey together, our focus shifts to refining their written pieces, including the creation of individual poems. The emphasis remains on honing the essential skills of proofreading and editing, crucial for crafting a polished final piece. This skill will undoubtedly serve them well as budding writers, especially as they prepare to share and showcase their work with their peers, teachers, and families.
In the spirit of the festive season, our students will apply their newfound knowledge of poetic devices to weave Christmas-themed magic into their poems. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our Level 2 students in their writing endeavours. As we approach the end of this school year, we continue to celebrate their growth and accomplishments in these final weeks.
Our final two weeks of 2023 will be heavily focused on interactive math games. The students will have the opportunity to work with students from all 3 classes. The focus will be on: 4 operations (+, -, division and x), Place Value, Fractions and Statistics & Probability.
This will be a great opportunity for students to consolidate their learning in a fun, relaxed and engaging environment.
Our students have accomplished great things in Numeracy this year and should be super proud of all of their hard-work! :)
