A surprise visitor entered the JLC on December 1st!! The kids (and teachers) are loving seeing what Elfie is getting up to each night. Great excitement at this time of the year!
Over the past two weeks we have investigate 2D and 3D shapes. We used play-doh and Connetix to create our own 3D shapes.
We had a special visitor with us one morning! Students were greeted one morning by Bailey- our school therapy dog. Bailey is in training to be a therapy dog and come into the classrooms. We absolutely loved having him!
This is our last week for Investigations. Lots of building, creating and designing going on in the classrooms! Thanks to our lovely Parent Helpers who have joined us over the past 2 weeks. Your help is much appreciated!
Students have blown us away with their reading skills this semester! Our Reading Fluency Pairs have helped the Level 1 students with their fluency and their expression while reading. We have been trying to entertain the listener by using the punctuation to guide our voice.
Our school Christmas Carols will be held on Monday the 11th of December. Ms Clarke has put together a bit of a mixture of a few different carols. The students have been quick to pick up the words and they sound amazing! We hope to see you there on Monday!

Science: In Science we have continued diving deep into our topic of light with Wilko. The students returned from both of our previous science lessons with very awesome creations they had made. They created a puppet and then an optical illusion which worked by having 2 images. There was a bird and a cage that were back to back on a stick and when spun fast enough between their hands it created an illusion that the bird was inside the cage! Now as we approach the end of the term we sadly only have 1 more science lesson for the year, which we are sure will be a very fun and exciting lesson on our topic of light!
