Year Six

Dear Year, 6 Families,

As we are nearing the end of a fantastic term, it has been amazing to witness all the incredible progress and achievements. In the midst of all the excitement and nostalgic emotions, we are thrilled to share the latest news and highlights from our vivacious Year Six community.

CHANCE POST TEST:

Students had been learning about chance and probability, in their last numeracy unit. They have been exploring the possibilities and outcomes of an event occurring and delving into concepts like experimental probability, predicting events, and analysing data alongside. It was time to consolidate their learning into a test. All students across the grade six cohort took their chance post-test on essential assessment.

WRITING:

It has been an amazing year to witness all the creativity overflowing in the form of writing. Our writing focus involves frontloading them with NAPLAN topics for 2024. The emphasis in writing lessons has been on persuasive and narrative text creation. Students demonstrated an amazing aptitude for the art of persuasion through their written words.

CAROLS PREPARATION

It is the festive season once again and everyone is buzzing with some joy and excitement. Every student has invested themselves emotionally and physically into performing their best for carols. 6ACF will be singing ‘Last Christmas’ while 6BDE will be singing ‘Underneath the tree’.
