Emergency evacuation drill on Monday.

On Monday, we practised evacuating over to the Hockey Field facilities, which is our off-site evacuation site. I was very impressed with the calm, orderly manner in which our students moved to the multipurpose room and then walked over to the hockey field. It took us approx. 3 minutes to be in the multipurpose room and then about 23 minutes to all be sitting down inside the hockey clubroom. Once we were inside, we discussed the different reasons as to why we might need to evacuate offsite and the importance of calm, orderly behaviour. We regularly have emergency drills at school to practise a range of different scenarios so we can be as prepared as we can be for the unexpected!

Our last newsletter for the term!

Thank you all for your support over the year. We have had parents and carers who have helped with Breakfast Club, Working bees, gardening club, whole school BBQs, the discoes, fundraisers, reading in classrooms, helping on camps and generally keeping an eye on our wonderful school- thank you! It is especially exciting to have such a keen group of parents/carers involved in re-launching our Parents & Friends group- thank you P&F team!

Thank you to our school councillors for their support and commitment to working together to keep making our school a great place to be.

The biggest thank you is for our amazing staff! Our teachers and ES staff who continue to go above and beyond to ensure our students are supported to be their best, and, who also support each other and myself, so we can all be our best too! It really is true- Team work DOES make the dream work!

We have some staff leaving us at the end of the year. Thank you and all the very best to   Laura Trembath (F/1T), Prue Clarke (ES) and Caitlin Wilson (ES). It has been wonderful to have you here supporting our students.

To the families who are finishing their time at Violet St primary school, thank you for being part of our school community and I wish you all the very best for the future.

Have a safe summer break everyone. Try to find some time to do something that re-energises you, spend some time in nature, and spend some time with a good book! I have quite the stack of books waiting for me, and I am looking forward to some holiday reading.

See you all in 2024!

warm regards,

Carolyn.
