Superhero Transformations

The final unit of Year 7 Maths was Transformations. Students investigated how reflection, translation, scaling and rotations can be used to create visual stories. The theme of the visual stories was Superheros. Students designed a superhero with superpowers and then created a simplified hero using only straight lines. They then wrote a short story about their hero which was turned into a cartoon. Each scene of the cartoon had specified transformations applied to the character.

It was fantastic to see students apply cross-curricular skills, literacy, art and mathematics in one project.
