Dear families,

Welcome to 2025. I hope you had a wonderful break with your families and friends and spent some time recharging your batteries, ready for the year ahead.

This year is a very special year as it is the Jubilee Year of Hope.

“Hope does not disappoint” (Romans 5:5)

Is a reading when the Apostle Paul addressed these words of encouragement

to the Christian community of Rome. Paul is talking about the kind of hope that only God can give. This kind of hope relies on God—His power, His promises, and the sacrifices He made for us. This type of hope carries a promise because of what He has accomplished.

A hope that does not disappoint means God has given us hope that rises in the midst of disappointment. This kind of hope is found not in the avoidance of suffering but the working through it because, suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

When we think about hope in this way, as reliance on God, then it gives us the strength to cope with challenges and have a deep belief that God is always with us and has a plan for each of us.

As we start a new school year, perhaps with some nervousness and excitement, let’s

be reassured that we are able to thrive and grow with God in our lives.
