Grade 5

Our Grade 5 students have been immersed in Dirrarn while also exploring the life and impact of Jandamarra, a warrior of the Bunuba people. They have been honing their writing skills by crafting factual recounts about his incredible story.

Mathematics

Grade 6

The Grade 6s have continued to deepen their understanding of fraction operations. They’ve tackled practical problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions. From sharing recipes to solving real-world puzzles, they’ve applied these concepts in fun and meaningful ways.

Grade 5

The Grade 5s have been exploring factors, investigating numbers that divide evenly into larger numbers. Through engaging activities, they’ve discovered factor pairs and learned how to identify prime and composite numbers. This foundational work will set them up for future mathematical success.

Topic (Science & Technology)

Both Grade 5 and 6 students have combined creativity and technology to create functioning remote controllers using cardboard, tin foil, and Makey Makeys. By connecting these devices to Chrome books, they’ve explored circuits and played interactive games. This hands-on project demonstrated how science and technology come to life in exciting ways!

Extra-Curricular Activities

Sacred Heart Carols

What a spectacular way to bring the school community together! A big congratulations to everyone for an incredible Carols performance—you should all be very proud of your efforts.

Grade 6 Big Day Out

Our Grade 6 students celebrated the end of their primary school journey with an action-packed day of stand-up paddleboarding. It was a fantastic way to cap off their time at Sacred Heart, and they represented our school with pride.

Swimming Program

Congratulations to all students for completing our intensive swimming program. Over two weeks, you refined your swimming skills, learned essential life-saving techniques, and had a lot of fun. It was wonderful to see so much progress!

Memory Books

A reminder: As part of their farewell to Primary School, the Year 6 students will be creating Memory Books. These scrapbooks will reflect on each year of their primary school journey, featuring written pieces (completed both in school and as part of homework) alongside any photos they wish to include.

We kindly ask parents to provide their child with a blank scrapbook (it doesn’t need to be anything fancy), as well as any materials they would like to use for decorating. Please also supply photos from your child’s primary school years—whether they are from school events or casual moments, all are welcome!
