Deputy Principal
Dear Parents and families,
It has been a busy and exciting time at Sacred Heart as we have moved into some of our new classrooms this week. The thrill of fresh new rooms, airconditioning and bright open spaces has been a lovely way for our Prep to Year 3's to end our year. We can't wait until the other classrooms are ready for the rest of the school next year. The faces of the students walking into their new spaces on Monday was incredible and so rewarding.
Sacred Heart Carols Evening
It was a warm balmy night on Wednesday evening as we gathered as a community to celebrate Christmas. The students have been practising their songs and dance moves for many weeks. A huge thank you goes to Mr Coutts for organising the event and all the classroom teachers for practising their songs. A highlight was Mr Coutts' spontaneous rendition of 'Oh Holy Night', what talent! A big thanks also goes to our incredble parents for organising the students gorgeous Christmas costumes. They all looked so happy, bright and festive!
CHRISTMAS PLAYGROUP
We finished our year off at playgroup today with a huge turn up of pre schoolers and their families. They were dressed in Christmas gear and shared some Christmas treats. It was so lovely to have our year 6 helpers Will, Finn, Paddy, Immy, Amber and Edie join us for the last time. The interaction between the year 6's and pre-schoolers is delightful. Thanks must also go to Carol our talented and musical LSO who shared some Christmas songs with our pre schoolers, many of whom are starting in prep in 2025. We also enjoyed a tour past the brand new classrooms this morning before we went into the playground. Lots of 'Oohs and Ahhs' from our little ones and their families! We look forward to welcoming everyone back to playgroup in the new year. Dates TBC.
SCHOOL HATS TERM 4
A reminder to all students to wear our school hats outside during playtimes and PE lessons. The UV is significantly high at the moment. Please apply sunscreen before school and students can reapply it during the day if necessary. NO HAT NO PLAY!
REMINDER ABOUT USING THE SCHOOL CROSSING and 2 min zone
As student safety is paramount at Sacred Heart, please make a concerted effort touse our school crossing before and after school. It frightens me watching families crossing in between and in front of cars. Please set an example to your children and cross at the crossing, even if it takes a couple of minutes longer. The 2 minute zone is such a busy place, please don't get out of your car to look for your child. If the 2 minute zone is full please drive around the block to free up the area for other cars as it blocks the whole road. Your co-operation is appreciated!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, we are nearly at the finish line,
Brigid Pennington
