Hi everyone,
I’m excited to be starting this new journey here at Jacana School for Autism, and I would like to thank Ashley Stace for his outstanding work and smooth handover. Ashley has done an incredible job with our staff and students, and we wish him all the best in his new role with the Middle Years team.
I’ve enjoyed getting to know our dedicated students and was truly impressed by the high-quality work and learning taking place in our classrooms.
Last week, we had a fantastic NAIDOC footy incursion where our students participated in football drills. It was wonderful to see everyone actively engaging and having fun. Our Book Week Parade on Wednesday was another highlight, with students and staff dressing up as their favourite book characters. A big thank you to everyone who participated.
A few important reminders:
We are loving this warmer weather, hoping you’re finding time to enjoy these beautiful days with your family.
Regards,
Bill Vasilevski
What an exciting year it has been so far for Room 21 students. Term 3 is flying by and we are all appreciating being able to have some outside time with the warmer weather. All students are participating in Canine Comprehension and are enjoying visiting with Victor the dog. Students have been busily rehearsing for the school concert where they will be performing the Vietnamese fan dance. They have enjoyed excursions to 10 Pin Bowing, Scienceworks and IMAX which complemented their study of volcanoes in Science. In class they have participated in activities to celebrate NAIDOC week and the Olympics. They are looking forward to GoClimb in September and another visit to IMAX. All students are continuing to enjoy their time in the Senior subschool and meeting the challenges of school life.
