Primary Sub-School News

Michelle Davies - Primary Sub School Leader

Hello everyone

We are well into Term 3 now!  Many thanks for your ongoing support of your child/ren and their learning journey at JSA.  I hope you have been able to (or have a meeting planned) attend an SSG with your child's teacher and had the opportunity to talk about their progress as well as your aspirations for their future and long-term goals.

Book Fair

We have had a wonderful week celebrating the joy of reading!  Our students have truly enjoyed a magical week of stories both familiar and new as well as discussing their favourite characters.

Excursions

I am excited to see all of the fabulous excursions that are happening throughout the remaining weeks of Term 3 and into Term 4.  Permission slips will be coming home as well as updates through Seesaw.

Individual Learning Plans

Your child's teaching team have been working hard to review and update individual learning plans.  These will be shared with you soon; please do let us know if you have any questions about them.

Winter & Sickness

As we continue to endure a Melbourne winter, sickness, colds and flus are circulating! We continue to support students to practise good hygiene, washing their hands, using tissues and generally keeping ‘hands to self’. In the event you need to keep your child at home due to sickness, please call the absence line so that we are able to monitor student absences and check in should your child have any unexplained absences.

Seesaw

Seesaw is a great platform through which our wonderful staff share images or videos of your child's progress as well as special events.  Please do check in with your child's profile for an update of all of the special moments they experience at JSA!

I hope we are all able to enjoy some of the warmer weather heading our way!

Best wishes

Michelle

Room 3

The students in Room 3 have participated in a range of learning activities this year. They enjoyed exploring a variety of textures and objects when participating in Science and The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. They accessed a variety of programs to support their learning when working on their reading and writing skills. We had fun sorting and matching money. A favourite activity has been buying things from our classroom shop. We are all excited when ‘George the Therapy Dog’ comes into visit us.

Well done Room 3, you are Super Stars.
