Production ~ The Hit List
A sneak peak of our costume trial:
St Mel’s Primary School recently performed an original musical to a sold-out crowd at Westside.
‘The Hit List’ was written and directed by St Mel’s very own Robyn Banfield, a combination of superb acting by the cast telling a journey through time and supported by each class singing and dancing to hits from the decades.
The crowd was wowed by the selection of hits, from the 1920s colourful Charleston, through to the Taylor Swift hit Shake It Off.
It was an amazing community effort to have nearly all students on stage for different songs, each one choreographed and the students dressed in wonderful costumes.
By the end of the evening, the audience had tapped their feet, cheered on the performances and when the entire school entered the stage for the grand finale the atmosphere was electric.
Performances such as these take a lot of time to put together and to stage. Under the watchful eye of the director and supporting staff, the students learnt their routines and rehearsed during terms two and three. And of course, having the chance to perform on a real stage with lights and music had the whole school excited.
Many thanks to our school community for organising costumes and props. And of course, congratulations to the students who made it all happen, the St Mel’s Stars of the Night.
