The preps have been learning about how shops work and creating their own shops in investigations. As part of this, we have been doing some cooking and serving of food. The kids have enjoyed making chocolate spiders, pizza, and omelettes and have learned how to serve them to people in cafes or pizza shops.

What a day! Our Book Week Dress Up Day was a great success. Thank you to everyone who came along & helped to make the day such a success. Thank you to all the parents & families who came along to our parade. The atmosphere in the air as soon as the kids came into school was amazing. So much joy & so many smiles.
After our parade, we had some Book Week Cross-age activities across the school where we looked at some of the Children's Council Shortlisted Books, check out the photos of some of the work we did together.
We love reading here at St. Mel's and our Book Week showed that, from our Principal's Reading Challenge, Book Week Prayer, to our Dress Up Day we could not have asked for a better week!
Thank you to all those involved, especially to Maria Makin for all her work with the Principal Reading Challenge and in our library. Thank you to Katie Ferrari for her amazing creativity in turning our library into a place of MAGIC!
