Principal Reflections
Dear Parents and Carers,
School Excursions
Each year our school goes above and beyond to provide enriching learning experiences that engage our students, beyond the classroom. Excursions offer students invaluable opportunities to extend their learning. By engaging with new environments, students can connect their knowledge with real-world experiences, enhancing their understanding and retention of key concepts taught in the classroom. By providing these opportunities for students we aim to foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking and allow students to explore subjects in a hands-on and dynamic way.
Away from the structured environment of the classroom, students also have the opportunity to interact with peers they might not regularly engage with. This fosters new friendships, strengthens existing relationships, and encourages teamwork and collaboration in a new setting. These social interactions can lead to improved communication skills, greater empathy, and a sense of belonging, as students share experiences and work together to navigate new environments.
This week was intended to be a big week of learning beyond the classroom and we have scheduled the Year 4 Dubbo excursion, Year 1 Local Excursion and Year 2 Excursion to Boundary Rock. Unfortunately due to the wet weather we have needed to postpone some of our scheduled events, however, our Year 4 students have travelled to Dubbo as planned. We are excited to hear of the many stories of success upon their return.
I would just like to mention a big vote of thanks to the teachers for their preparation and organisation of these events. I am deeply grateful to our teachers for their dedication and commitment to the students in their care. Their efforts ensure that our students, not only receive a comprehensive education, but also develop a lifelong love for learning through supervising these experiences is exceptional. The time and care, beyond the daily work of a classroom teacher, enrich the educational experience and contribute significantly to the growth and development of our students. Thank you again for making these experiences possible.

Feast of the Assumption of Mary
The Feast of the Assumption of Mary celebrates our belief that the Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. Today we celebrated this Solemnity with a Whole School Mass at Mary Help of Christians Church. Thanks to Fr Roel and Deacon Paul for their wonderful words of hope and inspiration.
Prayer:
O Blessed Virgin Mary, on this day of your glorious Assumption, we honor you as the Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Intercede for us, your children, and guide us closer to your Son, Jesus.
May we one day share in the joy of eternal life with you.
Amen.
Until next week,
Keep smiling,
Alison Hatton
