Year 9 & 10French incursion
On the last Thursday of Term 3, Year 9 and 10 French students had a fun visit from the Melbourne University van ‘Le cambriolage: the heist’. The heist is an immersive escape room experience that put the students’ French language knowledge to the test. They had to work in teams to solve exciting bilingual puzzles and recover the stolen artefact from the Quai d’Orsay Museum…before it was too late.
Students worked extremely well collaboratively, and the experience enabled them to not only use their French skills but also their problem-solving skills, communication and creative thinking skills.
It was a true team effort!
Words from students:
Kady: The incursion was super fun and interesting, it kept us really busy throughout the whole excursion and the puzzles and clues were really difficult but they were super interesting and fun.
Jadon: I liked how we worked in groups otherwise it would have taken an eternity to solve it by myself.
Aliyah: We did and escape room called Le Cambridge, it was a great and fun experience! There were so many fun and interactive cases that we had to solve in small groups and do our part to combine what we found with the rest of the class to crack the case. My favourite part of the escape room was when my group went into the van and had to deactivate the 'bomb' by finding the four buttons with numbers and learning the code by a red string placed on a board on each number that hinted the code to us. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely do it again!
