Peter Pan:

Our costumes have started to arrive, which has been very exciting for the students. Our backdrops are being created by the very talented Ange Croll. We still have tickets available, so if you haven't already, please contact our school office to purchase some. The younger students will be performing during our Thursday matinee, so be sure to purchase matinee tickets if you want to see our wonderful little performers as well.

Visual Arts:

In addition to lots of practice for Peter Pan, we have also been working on some amazing artwork for Frost Over Barraba. Students were given the choice to work independently or in pairs to paint a pallet, which will be displayed on trees in Queen Street for the duration of the event. The brief was to create something bright and colorful, and each piece has met that brief in a very unique way. The students have all put a lot of effort into creating these wonderful, one-of-a-kind artworks.

Writing:

We have been able to do some 'normal' learning as well. During writing, we have been focusing on narratives and have linked these to our work in Geography on natural disasters. Each week, we have written about a different natural disaster. I have been impressed with the descriptive language used by everyone in the class. Students are drawing from examples in our modeled texts and making them their own.

Stage 3 Maths

We have found ourselves back onto the topic of Multiplicative relations for three weeks, this time with a focus on division. We have been learning the importance of being able to prove our working through the CPA model which was modelled by Mr Unwin last Monday (Subject Matter Expert: Maths from the CSO). We have moved into using the correct terminology of quotients and dividends along with exploring how 'remainders' are represented in real world problems using decimals.
