🌟 Term Projects Underway!
We’re thrilled to share exciting updates from our Grade 6 Leadership Program with the Standout Youth Empowerment team, which began in Week 2 and will continue through to the end of term. This week, students formed teams and began developing creative projects to make a positive impact in our school and local community.
👥 Student-Lead Projects
🎨 Group 1: Beautify Smith Street Back Alley
Issue: Unsightly graffiti
Solution: Remove graffiti and replace it with vibrant murals in collaboration with local homeowners.
😊 Group 2: Kindness Day
Goal: Spread positivity across the school
Activities:Random compliments, appreciation notes,
smiles and thank-yous
“Name-out-of-a-hat” compliment game
Vision: Make Kindness Day a monthly tradition.
🫱🏽🫲🏿 Group 3: “No to Racism” Campaign
Issue: Instances of racism in the school community
Solution: Raise awareness through posters, lunchtime talks, presentations, and assembly segments.
🛡️ Group 4: Raise Playground Fences
Issue: Balls escaping over low fences
Solution:Persuasive letters to the principal
Student-teacher petition.
QR code campaign to highlight safety benefits.
🧹 Group 5: Save the Playground Initiative
Issue: Excessive rubbish on school grounds
Solution:Fortnightly cleaning roster for classes
Rewards for maintaining a tidy playground
