Student Wellbeing

Dear Families,

I hope everyone is feeling well-rested after the two week break. As we embark on Term 3, our community continues to place emphasis on wellbeing, recognising the importance of fostering a positive and supportive environment for all of our children.

This term, our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) will focus on Self - Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making. Our focus will enhance students' emotional resilience and strengthen social connections. Classroom SEL lessons will aim to equip students with the tools they need to navigate challenges, build healthy relationships and thrive both personally and academically. In priortising wellbeing amongst our community, we can build on our nurturing atmosphere, where every member of our community feels valued, supported and empowered to be their best.

We are pleased to announce the introduction of two new wellbeing initiatives at our school: Peaceful Kids and Psychs in Schools.

Peaceful Kids is an 8 week, evidence based and positive psychology program that supports children's emotional resilience and managing anxiety in everyday life.

We also welcome Holly from Psychs in Schools. She is a provisional psychologist who will work at CCK twice a week ensuring support for our children.

This term, there will be a number of whole school events designed to nurture our whole school approach to wellbeing. Our calendar will include initiatives and awareness events such as:

  • Bullying No Way - 11 to 15 August

  • R U OK? - 11 September

  • National Child Protection Week - 7 to 13 September

  • Rights of the Child - 15 to 19 September

We look forward to seeing our whole school come together in Term 3 to connect and strengthen wellbeing across the community.
