Principal Team's Message
Nurture. Innovate. Celebrate.
Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,
Professional Learning Boosts Literacy Practice
At Maramba, we remain deeply committed to strengthening student learning. On Friday, 28th November, Maramba staff were energised by a full day of professional learning facilitated by Emina McLean, a renowned literacy expert. The session offered valuable insights into the critical role of comprehension in effective literacy instruction. Staff revisited current practices, strengthened their understanding of evidence-based strategies, and collaborated to plan for high-impact teaching in 2026. The day proved highly productive, leaving our team inspired and well prepared to continue enhancing student outcomes.

Celebrating Our Career Start Graduates

This term, we are proud to celebrate a significant milestone for several of our teachers who have successfully completed their Career Start journey. Congratulations to Monika Ren, Natasha Janzerli and Suhayla Ekhlasi! Over the year, these educators have engaged in targeted professional learning, networked with other schools, and reflected on their practice to strengthen their teaching capabilities and deepen their impact on student learning.
Throughout the program, they demonstrated determination, openness to feedback and a strong commitment to growth. Their progress has been evident in the quality of their teaching, the positive relationships built with students and families, and their willingness to contribute to team planning and school initiatives.
Completing the Career Start program marks an important step in their professional careers. We commend them for embracing the challenges, celebrating successes and continuing to pursue excellence in their teaching practice.
We look forward to seeing your ongoing impact in the years ahead.

Discover Maramba Playgroup in 2026
We will be running playgroup sessions for three to five year olds early next year. A special part of these sessions will be the 'Experience Maramba' time where our special visitors can engage with different aspects of life at Maramba Primary School. Please see the flyers below for details:

Celebrating Our Maramba Volunteers
On Monday, 15 December, we will hold a special morning tea to acknowledge and celebrate our Maramba volunteers and members of our school community who have supported us throughout the year. While a morning tea hardly captures the depth of our gratitude, it is a small gesture to recognise the incredible contribution made by those who give their time and energy to enrich our school.
Whether supporting learning in classrooms, assisting on excursions, helping behind the scenes in our school or sports events, contributing through FOM, your efforts help make Maramba a vibrant, welcoming and engaging place for our students to learn and thrive.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our families and volunteers for the meaningful and positive impact you make each day. Maramba is a stronger community because of you.
We look forward to sharing this special occasion with you.

Years 1 and 2 Excursion
On Thursday, our Year 1/2 students enjoyed a fantastic excursion to Wilson Botanic Gardens. It was a wonderful and sunny day filled with outdoor learning, exploration and plenty of opportunities for students to connect with nature and each other.
Students loved visiting the Hoo Hoo Tower, wandering through the beautiful gardens and lakes, and sharing a relaxing picnic lunch together. The healthy picnic lunch included vegetables, fruit and sandwiches and was a hit among the students.
Thank you to all our staff and parent helpers who made this excursion possible.
